The short version: your figures stay in your browser.
What you type
Every calculation happens in your browser. Goals, balances, costs, expenses and rates are never sent to Stable Harvest or anyone else. Apart from loading the site's own files, the pages make no network requests; the one exception is the page-view count described below.
What is stored on your device
A few things are saved in your browser's local storage so they are there next time. They stay on the device you are using and are never uploaded:
- stableharvest-sinking: the expenses in the sinking funds planner.
- stableharvest-challenge: your 52-week challenge version, amount, start date and ticked weeks.
- stableharvest-currency: the currency symbol you chose.
- stableharvest-theme: light or dark, if you picked one.
The savings goal, emergency fund and compound growth calculators do not store your figures at all. "Clear all" on the sinking funds planner and "Untick all weeks" on the challenge remove their saved data; to remove everything, clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Cookies, accounts and ads
There are none. There is no sign-up, no advertising and no tracking across other sites.
Page-view counts
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which our host Cloudflare adds to each page, to count page views. It does not use cookies or track you across sites, and it never receives what you type into the calculators.
Links to other sites
Pages link to sources such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Reserve and the SEC's Investor.gov, to sister sites and to two recommended services, CleanTempMail and WebTraceCheck. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.
